AI Flock vs Google Gemini and NotebookLM: what is the difference?
Gemini is Google's assistant, and Gems are versions of Gemini with their own instructions and files. NotebookLM (now Gemini Notebook) lets you ask questions about a set of documents you upload to a notebook. Gemini Enterprise combines chat over company data with no-code agents. AI Flock sets up specialized agents on your company's processes that know your documents, split the work between them and learn from every correction, and it works on Microsoft 365.

| Aspect | Gemini and Gems | NotebookLM | Gemini Enterprise | AI Flock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Google's assistant; a Gem is Gemini with its own instructions and up to 10 files | A notebook for asking questions about the sources you upload | Chat with company data and no-code agents | Specialist agents for the company's processes |
| Where it works best | Writing, summarizing and brainstorming in Google Workspace | Studying and summarizing a set of documents with citations; audio overviews | Searching company data and building agents in Google's ecosystem | Repetitive, multi-step work: proposals, technical reports, invoices |
| Documents | The ones you attach or keep in Drive | Up to 50 sources per notebook in the free version and 300 in Enterprise | Connectors to Google and third-party data | Documents from SharePoint and the ones you upload to the chat, scanned ones included; agents can show the source they consulted |
| How it learns | Gem instructions that you edit | Answers based on the notebook sources, with no work instructions | Session, semantic and procedural memory: Google says you teach it once and it repeats the work the same way | A correction rewrites the agent's instructions and the whole team benefits |
| Multi-step work | You chain the steps in the conversation | You chain the steps | Configurable agents | A planner that splits the work, a second pass that reviews it and human approval |
| Integrations | Google Workspace | Drive and uploaded files | Google Workspace and connectors | Microsoft 365, HubSpot and Holded |
| Price | Gemini included in most Google Workspace plans | Free, with paid plans that allow more sources | From $21/user/month (Business edition) | From €20/month (Starter, launch offer) |

Frequently asked questions
Is AI Flock an alternative to NotebookLM?
To query a specific set of documents, NotebookLM is a good option and it is free. AI Flock goes beyond asking questions: its agents work with the company's documents (drawings and scans included), follow the instructions for how you work, chain multi-step work and learn from every correction, with human approval before anything critical.
Does NotebookLM work for a law firm or an engineering firm?
It works for studying a specific case file or project: you upload the documents to the notebook and ask questions, with citations to the sources. It has a limit on sources per notebook and does not remember how the law firm or engineering firm works; each notebook is independent. For repetitive work, such as drafting documents in the firm's style or technical reports on regulations and drawings, specialized agents are worth it.
What happens to Gems in 2027?
Google has announced that it will replace Gems with «skills». No earlier than March 1, 2027, Google Workspace business and education accounts will no longer be able to create, edit or use Gems.
